In my country, painting protection was usually used in the early days, and later hot-dip galvanizing was gradually adopted. Hot-dip galvanizing is still widely used for protection. Guardrails are large-scale permanent facilities for outdoor use. The choice of protection system must be based on different atmospheric environments. Guardrails may lose their effectiveness before their useful life is reached, resulting in a significant increase in maintenance costs for guardrails. The corrosion resistance of hot-dip aluminum guardrails is better than that of ordinary hot-dip galvanized guardrails, but its application range is not very wide due to reasons such as process, technology, cost and environmental impact. The protection system using hot-dip aluminum + plastic spraying is an uneconomical method compared to the protection system of hot-dip zinc + plastic spraying. The dual protection system of galvanized sheet + plastic spraying can achieve better anti-corrosion effects in heavily polluted areas, especially acid rain areas, and is the most durable protection method that greatly extends the service life.
